I'm over at Girls on the Grid today. Stop by and say hi!

Oct 13, 2009

You published author, you...

When I read those words in an email I got recently, I had to smile. (Okay, and jump up and down a little bit too.)

The email was from Laura Mayes, one of the founders of Kirtsy.com, who also edited a book that's coming out at the end of this month. A book that I'm going to be published in. Laura sent a picture of the cover...

Kirtsy Takes a Bow - A Celebration of Women's Favorites Online is a collective work with contributions from almost 100 authors/contributors.

There's going to be a book tour and signings and all kinds of fun stuff, so I'll keep you posted as I find out more.

But for now, as I eagerly await being able to read the book and get my author copies, I just had to share the picture, and the news. :)

On a different note, it's seriously raining here in California. Our poor scarecrow Greg (my daughter named him) didn't do so well last night...

and neither did our patio swing...

I took a shot of the pool too so you could see how hard the rain was coming down on the water, but you can't really tell from the picture. (I think I need a better camera. And I need to figure out how to get that date stamp thing turned off...)

The kids were so excited this morning when they woke up that they were jumping around and laughing.

I guess there's just something fun about the first big rain of the year. :)

For more "Wordful" or "Wordless" Wednesday photos, stop by Angie's Seven Clown Circus or 5MinutesforMom.

Talk soon,

Congratulations!!! That is so exciting! You ought to try your hand at anthologies like Cup of Comfort and some motherhood literary magazines too, if you haven't already. I've had some good luck with those!

As for the rain - I don't think I've seen the sun around here for over a week. Rain, rain go away!

That is such exciting news! I cannot wait to see the book.

I heard about the rain over there. It's pretty rare to get that much rain over in Cali.

Your rain looks like our rain up here in rainy Vancouver. We're in for days and days and days of it....

We are still waiting for your rain to make it down here to the lower regions of California. Looks like we may remain dry.

Congratulations on being a published author! But poor, Greg...face down in the rain is no way for a scarecrow to be!

We too braved the rain and wind last night. The yard looked like a war zone this morning! Tree parts and pieces of bushes everywhere!

Congratulations on the publishing...

First, congrats on your book contribution! That is so exciting!

It's been raining here in Indiana for 2 weeks straight. I'm glad it doesn't bother me, otherwise, I'd be a basket case by now.

Congratulations on being a part of the Kirtsy book. You are one of my favorites, that's for sure.

Looks like you all got some wind with that rain. I hope you manage to save the stuff that's toppled over :)

Poor Greg.
