About Me

I'm Genny, a far-from-perfect mom who is the first to admit that after years of parenting, I’m still learning. I love being encouraged by the stories and experiences of other moms, and I especially love being able to give some of that encouragement back.

I'm married to Mike--high school sweetheart, soul mate, best friend--and we have two great kids together, our daughter (10) and our son (9).

I love to write, whether it's children's books (I have two due out in 2010), here at my blog, at 5MinutesforFaith, Hearts at Home, for MOPS, or for other magazines and websites. I've also had the fun opportunity to have one of my parenting stories published in the book Kirtsy Takes a Bow: A Celebration of Women's Favorites Online and loved being a part of that.

I'm an Assistant Regional Advisor for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (a really great group of people) and I review books for the Sacramento Book Review and San Francisco Book Review (another great group of people). I have a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor Degree in Marketing, and a Bachelor Degree in Management, none of which prepared me for the ups and downs of parenting, or the way my heart would double in size from the incredible love that comes with being a mom.
